The SDG Odyssey is DebateX's flagship policy track, focused on the Model United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Delegates will analyse real-world challenges, draft policy proposals, and collaborate to develop actionable solutions through policy drafting, negotiation, and resolution formation.

Delegates research, analyse, and propose solutions to global challenges. The format emphasises deep research, logical structure, and persuasive delivery. Participants present well-evidenced cases and respond to opposition with precision and poise through policy drafting, negotiation, and resolution formation.

Pre-Conference Stage

Teams choose a country, then prepare and submit a research-based problem statement accompanied by a relevant real-world case study, supported by credible data and references.
The DebateX review panel evaluates and validates submissions to ensure clarity, authenticity, and alignment with the assigned SDG track.
Approved teams refine their content and develop structured presentations in preparation for the conference rounds.

Case Study Presentation Round Briefing & Q&A

Teams formally introduce their issue, present supporting evidence, and explain its broader implications. Interactive questioning and peer voting determine the proposals that advance.

Advocacy & Outreach Round Creative Communication

Participants collaborate to promote their selected causes through innovative awareness strategies such as storytelling, media campaigns, or persuasive showcases, demonstrating the ability to mobilize support.

Deliberation Round Structured Debate

Teams engage in moderated exchanges, defending their research and responding to challenges. This stage tests analytical thinking, clarity, and feasibility of proposed ideas.

Policy Development Round Solution Drafting

Finalists transform their problem statements into actionable policy frameworks, outlining implementation plans, stakeholder roles, and measurable outcomes for sustainable impact.
